Flewelling & Moody Architects is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter / Architectural Intern to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an architecture student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working on K–12 educational, higher education, community projects, and residential projects.
Working alongside experienced and licensed architects and project managers, you’ll contribute to projects throughout every phase of design—from early planning and conceptual design to construction documentation and construction administration. You’ll have the opportunity to develop technical skills, expand your design knowledge, complete your NCARB AXP experience, and build a professional portfolio while helping shape schools and community facilities across California.

What You Will Do:
- Prepare architectural drawings and BIM models using Revit, Autodesk Forma, and AutoCAD.
- Develop site plans, floor plans, roof plans, elevations, building sections, and architectural details.
- Assist in the preparation of schematic design, design development, the DSA (Division of State Architect) process, and construction document packages.
- Produce presentation graphics, renderings, diagrams, and visual materials for client meetings and public presentations.
- Participate in field investigations, site documentation, existing building measurements, and facility assessments.
- Help maintain office graphic standards, BIM standards, and drawing organization.
- Research building products, materials, and applicable California building codes.
- Support multiple projects while developing professional architectural skills through mentorship and hands-on experience.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program, or currently pursuing an accredited Architecture degree.
- 0–3 years of professional experience (internship experience welcomed) or demonstrably strong technical skill set.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD experience.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Enscape or comparable visualization software.
- Strong graphic, technical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, in-person studio environment.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine passion for architecture.
- Experience with educational facilities, BIM coordination, SketchUp, and Bluebeam, is a plus—but not required.
